kkcenterhk water decal & stamping plate review

Hi there,

Sorry for the disappearance. I started a new course, and it was more demanding than anticipated.

I was contacted a couple of months ago by the lovely Maggie from kkcenterhk, to do a review on their products. I was so honoured she considered me, and was asked to choose from a list of products.

I chose a stamping plate and some water decals.

SPPMB119

WDHHK160

With this I came up with this mani.

Base Coat: Nail Tek II
Stamping Polish: Sally Hansen Insta Dri Rapid Red
Accent Nail: Barry M Matte White & Pucca water decal
Top Coat: Seche Vite

As I had never used water decals before, I thought they were super hard to work with, as they seem quite flimsy. But these were easy to work with. All I did was cut out the image I wanted and placed in water for 30 seconds, I then took it out and the water decal slid right off. Ensure nail polish is dry before applying on nail, and VIOLA. I then used a tissue to soak off the access water and topped off with my favourite top coat.

You can get these from kkcenterhk, and get this stamping plate here which is USD $5.05, and the Pucca water decals here which is USD $6.39 . I also have a coupon code for 10% off orders, which is valid until 31st January 2013. Just enter the following code at the checkout. stampnpolish.

I hoped you all enjoyed, and see you again soon.

NYC Sandwich

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a sandwich mani that I did since OPI released the NYC Ballet collection. I came up with this mani, in an attempt to find a dupe, and save some money. I seem to be doing that a lot. :o/ I'm trying to save some pennies for a massive blowout on holiday.

Trying to keep cost to a minimum, I used polishes which I already have. I went through my stash, and found a silver glitter polish from L.A colors. I realised I have a a lot of glitter polishes which all look similar, but still feel the need to buy more, when I see them in the shop.

I started with the NYC then added the silver glitter polish, then added 2 coats of NYC again.

Overall, I think it turned out ok, and keeps me happy for now, so don't need to splurge on the OPI's Barre My Soul & Pirouette My Whistle.

NYC: 1 coat
L.A Colors Silver Glitter: 1 coat
NYC : 2 coats
NYC top coat

I hope you all enjoyed, and hopefully see you guys soon.

Birthday Mani

Hi there,

Sorry for the absence. Life has been pretty hectic recently. So mush is going on with work and studies.

It was my birthday last week, and thought I'd use some of my favourite polishes, for a gradient and stamping mani.

I started off with BK 10, then sponged on Ellen Golds Cinzo Chumbo & BK 20 on the tips. Using a black polish to stamp I used the zebra print on Konad M57. I just stamped the tips, as didn't want to hide too much of the holo effect.

BK 10: 1 coat
Sponged with Ellen Gold Cinzo Chumbo & BK 20
Stamping Polish: W1 Black
Top Coat: NYC In a Minute Grand Central Station
Image Plate: Konad M57

I hope you all enjoy, and see you again soon.

Layla Murcury Twilight vs Make Up Store Greta

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a comparison between two polishes which I'm loving at the moment. So we all know Make Up stores holo were the most linear holo polishes out there.

But along come Layla's, and in my opinion makes Make Up Stores holo's not holo at all.

Index & Ring Finger: 2 coats Layla Mercury Twilight
Middle & Pinkie Finger: Make Up Store's Greta

Both were applied without the aqua base and dragged when applied. that's my only complaint. I have 5 of the Layla polishes, and think they are AMAZING!

Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Franken Horsenden & Holo Bomb

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you another Franken which I have named Horsenden. I named this after a hill, close by to me. I love it up there so green and fresh. I mixed Essie Pretty Edgy, Sinful colours San Francisco & W7 Black. The sun was out so decided to use my holo top coat aswell.

Franken Horsenden: 2 coats
Holo Bomb: 2 coats
Top Coat: Seche Vite
Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Make Up Store Siw

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you Make Up Store's Siw. Got this back in December but never got the chance to wear it. Look at the holo gorgeousness. Love the results, but hate the application. I'm just a rebel, really hate the fact I need to use the Aqua base for the application to be decent.

Make Up Store Siw: 3 coats

Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Layering W7 Black, Barry M Silvery Lilac & Holo bomb

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a layering mani with the new Barry M polish Silvery Lilac.

Silvery Lilac is a duochrome polish with some glitter, which I dont particularly like, so decided to add some holo goodness. It's quite sheer, so thought it'd be great layered over a dark polish.

W7 Black: 1 coat
Barry M Silvery Lilac: 2 coats
Holo Bomb: 1 coat
Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Fading Mani

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a fading mani I did a few weeks ago. Just used a cosmetic sponge to TRY to fade the colours together. I did a rubbish job doing this. LOL Just looked as if I blocked the colours.

Pink: Catherine Arley 670
Purple: Milani (Hi Res)
Blue: Franken
Seche Vite Top Coat
Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

The mixing begins!

Hi there,

So everyone know's I'm literally killing myself, and restraining myself in purchasing OPI's DS Glamour. So decided to do a little mixing. I used BK Diamond Duet no 10 and added a few drops of Nails Inc Motley Street. When I say a few, I mean 40. LOL. Then added a couple drops of W7's Black and then added a couple of drops of BK Diamond Duet no 6.

I know it's not exactly the dupe of OPI's DS Glamour, but this should keep me happy for now.

Hope you all enjoy and see you again soon.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the absence. Been really busy at work and studies. Have loads of posts to post, so will try doing some in the Easter break.

See you guys soon.

Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Blueberry

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you Miss Sporty's Blueberry. Last week I did a layering combo mani, and layered OPI's DS Original over this. But Blueberry deserves a post of it own. Blueberry is a gorgeous Indigo polish and applies perfectly.

The first coat was a bit blotchy, however I don't mind this, as I'm not accustomed to one coat polishes yet.

Miss Sporty Blueberry: 2 coats

I've been really lazy recently, and haven't been using a top coat, but luckily this polish dried super shiny.

Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Franken Polish: Blue's There?

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you my franken polish- Blue's There? Blue's There? is a bright blue holo polish. Couldn't find the bottle, so grabbed my Nail Tek Intensive Therapy II for the pictures.

Blue's There? : 2 coats

My camera disappointed me, and did not show the holo effect. IRL it's actually more holo.

I hope you all enjoy and see you again soon.

W7 Metallic Jupiter

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you W7's Metallic Jupiter. Metallic Jupiter is a sheer purple, leaning black, polish with a blue duo chrome. It looks better in the bottle than my nails and unfortunately, I really do  not like this polish.

W7 Metallic Jupiter: 2 coats

Unlike Metallic Neptune, which is from the same collection, it's quiet sheer, and I got a few bald spots. BOO! This didn't stay on my nails long- say a day.

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you guys soon.

BK Diamond Duet no 6 and stamping

Hi there,

Today I'm bring you another holo polish from BK. This is BK no 6, which is a super holo pink. Thought I'd subtle out the holo-ness and stamped and image from Bundle Monster BM 206. Really impressed with the BK holo polishes. Super holo gorgeousness.

BK Diamond Duet no 20: 2 coats
Stamping Plate: BM 206
Stamping Polish: W7 Black
Top Coat: Miss Sporty Glossy Tech

Got so many compliments and when the sun hit my nails, boy did the sunglasses come out. LOL. This chipped however after a day, but don't know whether it's the top coat or the polish itself. But I did not have this problem when using my HG top coat, Seche Vite, with BK 20.

Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Blueberry & OPI DS Original layering Combo

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a layering combo, as I'm still pining for OPI's DS Glamour. Why is it soooo hard to get hold of? Still can't justify paying £35+ for a nail polish, so still trying to control myself from pressing the 'purchase now' tab on eBay.

So for this mani I used Miss Sporty's Clubbing Colours Blueberry and layered one coat of OPI DS Original.

Base Colour: Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Blueberry: 2 coats
OPI DS Original: 1 coat

Still not quite there yet, but still love this combo.

I hope you all enjoy and see you again soon.

W7 Metallic Neptune & Holo Bomb

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you guys yet another combo with my franken, Holo Bomb. I've been trying to get the perfect green/dark blue holo, so it could keep my addiction to buy Glitter Gal's Lizard Belly at bay.

I know it's nowhere close, but love this combo, and don't feel the need to buy Lizard Belly- for now. W7's Metallic Neptune is a purple & teal duochrome polish, which required 1 coat!

W7 Metallic Neptune: 1 coat
Holo Bomb: 1 thin coat
Miss Sporty Glossy Tech Top Coat

Love how this shifted to purple then back to teal depending on the lighting, I sure didn't get bored looking at my mani in different lighting. It's actually more teal in real life.

Check how my franken has discoloured. Freaking BB's I got were supposed to be no rust, but check how my franken has gone a browny coppery colour. EWWWW....

I hope you all enjoy and see you again soon.

Valentines Mani 2

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you the second Valentines mani. I used MUA's no 20 as a base- a gorgeous hot pink, then stamped some hearts with Konad Special Polish white and Miss Sporty's Planet Pink.

Collection 2000 no 20: 2 coats
Stamping Plate: BM 202
Stamping Polish: Miss Sporty Planet Pink & Konad Special Polish White

Check out the dodgy stamping on my pinky and ring finger. I used the small end of Konad's stamper, and thats what happened. Turned it over and used the big end on the index and middle finger and it turned out ok. So maybe I have a dodgy stamper? Let the experimenting begin. LOL

I don't know which mani to choose now.

Hope you all enjoy and see you guys soon.

Valentines Mani 1

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you my first valentines mani. I'm still deciding how I want my nails on this weekend, so did a little experimenting.

Collection 2000 Big Hair: 2 coats
Stamping Plate: QA6
Stamping Polish: Konad Special Polish White

Loving the Big Hair, especially the name. LOL.

I hope you all enjoy and see you again soon.

Help Wanted: Which MPJ Do I have?

Hi there,

Just a quick post today, wanted to know if anyone knew which version of OPI's My Private Jet I have? I know there are around 4 versions out there.

OPI: My Private Jet: 2 coats

This was actually opaque in 1 coat, however I added 2 just out of habit. No top coat was added. In normal lighting my MPJ looked nothing to write home about, just a dark brown with flakes, that don't even shine or shimmer.

Would appreciate if someone could tell me which version I have.

Hope you guys enjoy and see you again soon.

Justification... Purple holo's

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you a few polishes. I wanted to justify my stash of purple holo's. Justisfy to myself, that is. LOL. I noticed when I was doing my my holographic collection that I had a load of purples.

Index: Color Club: Wild at Heart: 1 coat
Middle: NuBar: Treasure: 3 coats
Ring: Milani:Hi Res: 2 coats
Pinkie: OPI: DS Original: 3 coats
All were without top coat.

I think they're all very different. But I've got to admit, I could do with Nubar Treasure, as it not as holo as the rest, and it's quite similar in shade-but not as holo as DS Original. My favourite has to be Color Club's- Wild at Heart, then Milani's Hi Res, the OPI's  DS Original. The only reason DS Original was my least favourite is because it took 3 coats to look half decent! Maybe I'll try next time, I'll layer it with a purple base color, as this polish has an AMAZING holo! This was THE polish to get me into holo's in the first place, now I'm addicted! Reading my past posts, you'll think I had a vendetta with OPI, but I don't, honest. I have a few OPI's in my collection, and love each for it's amazing colours, but the wear of the polish can be a bit of a bum sometimes- unless I'm doing something wrong?

I did not include Catherine Arley 673 and China Glaze's LOL, as they're quite dark, so may do a post comparing it to Wild at Heart soon.

I hope you guys enjoy and see you again soon.

Finding the perfect Green Holo

Hi there,

I've been looking for the perfect Green holo, and did not want to buy or make a franken, without experimenting first. Application was not great, as I was just experimenting. I applied Sinful Colors San Francisco on my index and ring finger & Essie's Pretty Edgy on my middle and pinkie.

I then applied Holo Bomb (franken top coat) on my index and middle finger and BK Diamond Duet 10 on my ring and pinkie finger.

Here's the results.

I actually like San Francisco with BK Diamond Duet the best. What do you guys think?

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

Revlon Midnight Affair & Holo Bomb

Hi there,

I'm still trying to find the perfect dark blue holographic polish, so today, I'm bringing you my franken, Holo Bomb layered on top of Revlons Midnight Affair.

First off, Revlon's Midnight Affair is a dark Navy, which a shimmer effect. The formula was really good, and was opaque in one coat. I applied 2 coats, out of habit. (I really need to embrace the fact polishes can be 1 coaters!)

Revlon Midnight Affair: 2 coats
Holo Bomb: 1 coat on index, ring & pinkie. 2 coats on middle finger

I kinda' messed up on the middle finger and had to apply 2 coats of Holo Bomb. It was way too holo, if thats even possible!?! I actually prefer the effect I had on my other fingers, with just the one coat.

Next up a green holo combination.

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

Max Factor Mini nail polish Fantasy Fire (No 43)

Hi there,

I can not express how much trouble I went through to get this polish. I went around all the Boots on Oxford Street & Bond Street on Thursday & Saturday, but I don't think they even had it there. It did not help that the names of the polishes were not on the display, only the numbers.

I then popped to my local Boots & Superdrug, and found them there! I was so cheesed off, but excited at the same time. And the displays were much better. They had all the colours in both stores. I was shocked!

Anyways, here it is over a few colours.

Index: Revlon Midnight Affair
Middle: W7 Black
Ring: Ramdom Blue
Pinkie: Suzi

The photo does not do this polish any justice. It's more glittery IRL. I prefer Fantasy Fire over the Suzi Polish & the random blue polish.

What do you guys think?

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

China Glaze Ingrid & Stamping

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you China Glaze's Ingrid. Ingrid is a creamy brown, with gold shimmers, which is noticeable in certain light. I don't normally go for browns, however I found this suited my complexion, and made my fingers look professional. Am I making any sense? :o| Formula & the application was good- find it's hit and miss sometimes with China Glaze.

I was going out on Saturday, and thought I allowed myself enough time (an hour) and thought my mani would dry on time, so used Miss Sporty Glossy Tech top coat. Boy was I wrong!!! I still managed to dent my mani, and kept staring at it all evening. Note to self: "Quick dry top coats only on nights out!"

So I covered it up, as soon as I got in with some stamping.

China Glaze Ingrid: 2 coats
Stamping: W7 Black
Miss Sporty Glossy Tech top coat
I stamped with a random fauxnad plate. What do you guys think?

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

My Franken- Holo Bomb

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you my franken- Holo Bomb. For those who don't know what a franken polish is- it's a polish which one creates themselves. I've been lusting after OPI's DS Glamour, and wanted to see if I could create this. Fat chance! DS Glamour is a polish that is of it's own. Very unique, I would love to know a possible dupe for this polish.

Anyways, here's what I've created. For the base colour I used China Glaze's First Mate, and added Miss Sporty Glossy Tech's Top coat, to see if this dulled the holo effect, but it didn't- luckily. I'm quite proud of my creation. :o)

Let me guys know what you think. Would like some feedback.

Holo Bomb: 2 coats

L.A Colors Cactus

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you L.A Colors Cactus. This polish was only 99p! I had heard so many great things about this polish. This polish has a purple base with khaki/mossy metallic glitter, it also has hints os blue and gold. Even after applying 2 coats, I still had a few bald spots. :o(

L.A Colors Cactus: 2 coats

I did not add a top coat, hence the tip wear after a day. But for 99p I can't complain.

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

China Glaze First Mate

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you China Glaze's First Mate. This came out in Spring 2011, in the Anchors Away collection. The application of this polish is amazing. I managed to get opacity with one coat.

China Glaze First Mate: 1 coat

My camera didn't pick up the colour correctly on my index and middle finger. The colour is more accurate on my ring finger. I didn't add a top coat to this as the finish is quite glossy.

I hope you all enjoy and hopefully see you again soon.

Essie Mademoiselle

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you Essie's Mademoiselle. I heard this was one of Essie's best selling polishes so decided to see what the hype was. In the bottle, I was like meh! what's the big fuss? Boy do I take that back! I LOVE everything about this polish, application was a bit dodgy at first, had streaking, but a second coat corrected this. But the colour- a milky pink is so elegant and sophisticated, I love how it made my hands look. I wore this two weekends in a row. Yeah, that's saying something, considering I'm trying to get through my stash of un-trieds.

Essie Mademoiselle- 2 coats

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you OPI'S Lincoln Park After Dark. This is a great polish for winter, even though it's been gorgeous in London, and we've had a bit of sun- which we rarely get in January. LPAD is a gorgeous vampy dark purple, it's such a deep purple, it almost looks black, in some lighting. Love the intrigued looks I get when I wear this polish.

Color Club Revvvolution

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you yet another holographic polish, Color Clubs Revvvolution. Revvvolution is supposed to be a gorgeous grey holographic polish, however I think I got a dud bottle. I heard there were a few versions of this polish, and hoped and prayed I didn't get the newer, not so holo bottle. Unfortunately, I did. These pictures were taken with a flash, under a lamp, and in natural lighting. As you can see, the holo effect is barely there. In natural lighting the holo effect is non existent. I did not apply a top coat, just to see what the effects will be. :o( I'm so bummed, my mission is now to find a grey super holo polish. Any suggestions? I really wish the UK have more holo polishes which are easily accessible. The majority of my holo stash has been acquired via ordering online, which makes the wait excruciating, have I mentioned, I'm super impatient? :o)

This applied quiet well, and I could have gotten away with one coat, but as always, I applied 2 just to be on the safe side.

Color Club Revvvolution: 2 coats

Hope you guys enjoy and see you again soon.

China Glaze Innocence

Hi there,

Today I'm bringing you China Glaze's Innocence. Innocence is a gorgeous milky pink. It's quiet sheer, so application was quiet patchy. I tried to correct the streakiness and ended up applying 3 coats. So to get even coverage and for it to look half decent, the polish was totally opaque, and the polishes real beauty did not show. This would be a great polish for french tip, if only the application was a bit easier. I'm gonna give it a go soon.

China Glaze Innocence: 3 coats
Seche Vite Top Coat

Hope you guys enjoy and see you again soon.
